Gonzaga is Number One in AP Poll: Mar 4th, 2013

Gonzaga is the new number one team in the country, removing Indiana who drops to #2.

Gonzaga takes over the number one ranking following a week in which they first got a victory at Brigham Young, 70-65. After that came another win at home against Portland, 81-52. Indiana lost their number one ranking with a win against Iowa, 73-60 and a loss to Minnesota, 77-73. Virginia Commonwealth breaks into the Top 25 at #21 with an upset win at home over then-20th ranked Butler, 84-52. UCLA comes in at #23 with wins against then-11th ranked Arizona, 74-69 and Arizona State, 79-74. Butler drops out of the Top 25 this week with an upset loss at Virginia Commonwealth. Louisiana Tech drops out after wins against San Jose State, 88-61 and Utah State, 84-61.

Arizona is a big mover this week to #18 after an upset loss at USC, 89-78 and an upset loss at UCLA. Marquette shot up seven spots to #15 after wins against then-21st ranked Notre Dame, 72-64 and then-12th ranked Syracuse, 74-71.
